Highlights of West Norfolk Holiday 2026.

Rich in natural beauty, wildlife and steeped in history, this part of England offers great variety of farmland, forest, river valleys and coast which is all relatively flat.

We stay on the edge of the historic town of Kings Lynn, once an important port in the 12th century. From here the area offers plenty of good walking, especially along the Norfolk Coast Path to Hunstanton, Well-Next-the Sea and Blakeney, while inland is the Pedders Way and many other paths to follow.

A definite must is a visit to the nearby country Royal Residence of Sandringham, with its fine house, extensive grounds and museum. Other interesting historic houses in the area are Holkam Hall, home to the 9th Earl of Leicester, and Oxborough Hall, a fine moated country house owned by the National Trust.

Also in the area is the Bure Valley Narrow Gauge Railway, Norfolk Lavender Farm and Walsingham. a place of religious pilgrimage.

The walks will be about 5 miles and arranged with the option of doing a morning walk and then joining those not walking on the coach, who have already been coaching during the morning to somewhere of interest, for an afternoon excursion, so there is something for everyone.

Our stay is at the 3-star modern Dragonfly Hotel, situated on the outskirts of the historic market town of Kings Lynn, which is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with pleasant public rooms.

This two storey hotel has no lifts. so All twin and double en-suite bedrooms are on both floors.

Our five day/four-nights holiday is £585 providing 35 go, in single, twin and double rooms, but, as always, single rooms are limited, so please try to share if possible to be sure of a place, as ballot may be necessary to allocate single-use-rooms.

We are on half-board from Monday dinner to Friday breakfast and this includes return coach fare, coach excursions form the hotel, gratuities to staff and driver but not entrance fees to museums.

Please refer to footnotes for booking and other details.
